Guest Writer: Teresa Romanoff

This week I will feature three guest writers. All things I will share were written in response to either a conference or a workshop that I have taught. They are each unique and powerful enough I wanted to share them with you.

Today’s post is written by Teresa Romanoff at April’s Soaring With God to Flourish Conference.

“There’s something about when you know the backstory, what someone is singing over.  Daughters who sing over pain, sing over the loss, over the disease. How many names have people given you? What names are you answering to? Not enough…not pretty enough, not smart enough, not strong enough. They call and you answer.

In biblical times, being blind was commonly seen as a curse. To support themselves financially, beggars were given cloaks, which gave them permission to beg. In the Gospel of Mark, Blind Bartimaeus has an encounter with Jesus.

Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. Mark 10:49-50

The beggar heeded the call of Jesus and threw off his cloak.

Let go of the outer garment that holds you captive. Jesus calls you blessed. Jesus calls you chosen, redeemed, the head and not the tail, the apple of His eye, and the ONE sheep He left the 99 for.

You are free! Drop the chains that have bound you and refuse to pick them up again. Daughter, do you see that you are a miracle? Once you were lost, but now you are found, you were blind, but now you can see. There was a time you were like a ship off course without direction, tossed to and fro. But then, God came and shined the Light upon you. You are no longer a child of the dark, but rather a child of the Light. Now, lift up your head and follow the path I have set before you, the path I have destined for you. You have everything you need within you to accomplish all that I have for you.

MIRACLE! MIRACLE YOU ARE! GO AND RELEASE THE MIRACLE IN OTHERS. “

  1. Thank you for that reminder Teresa, I needed it. It is a beautiful thing to be… enough, no longer striving, content in who and who’s we are. God bless you my dearest sister and friend.
