This post was sent in my newsletter 2/18/2022

I have gotten out of the habit of duplicating blogs and newsletters, but since this post summed up the week about the word enough, I decided to make an exception. If you would like to receive my newsletter in your in box, fill out the pop up window to subscribe.

You Are Enough

I don’t know about you, but I often feel that I am not enough to handle all that the Lord asks of me. I look in the mirror and wonder, “How am I to do all of that Lord?” And then I remember….

When God created the earth, He saw that it was good. After He created man in His own image, He looked at all that He had created and “behold, it was very good.” (Genesis 1)

You are God’s creation and He provides you with all that you need to fulfill your purpose and destiny. He provides enough.

Matthew 6: 31-33 addresses our concerns about having and being enough.

Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’  For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.  But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. NASB 1995

The Amplified Classic Version of verse 33 gives us insight into what it means to seek God’s kingdom above all else.

But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. Matthew 6:33  AMPC

Seek God’s way of doing life and being right. What does that look like when you feel you are not smart enough, good enough, informed or educated enough to do the work the Lord is placing before you?

It is trusting that Scripture is sufficient to equip you for what lies ahead.

All Scripture is nspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3: 16-17

It is having faith that God’s grace—His empowering Presence which enables you to be who He created you to be and to do what He created you to do—is sufficient for today and all of your tomorrows.

And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast [a]about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

It is resting in God’s promise that when He anoints you—when He hand picks you and sets you apart for His work—He will teach you all that you need.

As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.

1 John 2:27

It is allowing God to provide you all that you need to take the step that is before you.

God is enough. God provides enough. God’s spirit abides in you. (John 15:4). All that you need for your identity and destiny is available to you through the Spirit living in you.

God looks at you and says, “Behold, it is very good.”

Therefore, My Friend, you are enough.
