Yellow Doesn’t Mean Stop

  • Deborah

Recently it has felt like God has switched green lights to yellow lights in my life. I take that to mean slow down. As the psalmist wrote,

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;

    I will be exalted among the nations,

    I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

 I have pondered what the message is behind the slowing down of things in my life. There are many reasons why God might switch your green light to yellow.

Perhaps He wants to spend more time with you.

Perhaps He has a curve in the road and wants you to see it and navigate is safely.

Perhaps He wants to remind you to cease striving and trust Him.

Perhaps He wants to heal your mind, heart, or physical self.

These are just a few reasons why God may slow your pace. The key is to stay content in the new state. One way to stay content is to recognize that yellow does not mean stop. God is not taking away your vision or dream. You have not failed. Yellow means slow down, be aware, and proceed carefully. Trust that God is in control and He has your vision and your best interest at heart.

Yellow does not mean stop.
