Who Are You?

If you are to know where you fit in the body of Christ, you must know yourself. Who is it that God created you to be?

God knit you together in His perfect way.

For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.”
Psalm 139:13

God gave you unique gifts, talents, personality, and even physical shape when He formed you.

Today, take a few minutes to take inventory of who God says you are.

Consider:

  • What are your natural abilities?
  • Do people seek you out for anything in particular?
  • What do you love to do?
  • What do you long to do?
  • Where in your life do you see the fruit of your labors?
  • What do you do that seems easy to you and difficult to others?
  • What are you strengths?

Then ask your Creator who He created you to be. You might be surprised.

Finally, before moving ahead in our journey of discovery this week, take the time to praise the Lord for who He created you to be.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.”
Psalm 139:14

I believe we often overlook the first part of this sentence, “I praise you…” We forget to thank and praise God for who we are right now. Today, you are who God created you to be. Yes, we are all on a journey of becoming so much more. That should not stop you from loving who God created you to be today and thanking God for His wonderful work.

Who are you? You are who God created you to be.

That’s worth celebrating.

Tomorrow I will ask the question, “Where are You Going?”  As we continue this journey of discovery.
