These blogs often follow my life and what the Lord is saying or doing. This morning I came into my studio to write this post and had nothing. I sat here at my desk and said, “Lord what do you want to say today?” I heard NOTHING!
I will admit, my mind was muddled with another pending decision. I am also coming off a stressful week thanks to COVID affecting my extended family and putting my household in another week of isolation. My point is that sometimes we hear nothing because our minds are too busy thinking about and working through situations unrelated to what we hope to hear from Heaven.
So, what did I do? I know better than to force the subject. I was willing to let today’s post slip by if need be. Then I took a lunch break. In the middle of lunch, watching an unrelated documentary, I heard Holy Spirit whisper, “Write about the silence.”
Lesson #1: When God is silent, wait for Him to speak. He will speak on His timetable, not yours.
Lesson #2: When God is silent, He may be trying to teach you a new language. Perhaps He is growing your repertoire of His methods of communicating.
Lesson #3: Refer to lesson #1. Wait for Him to reveal Himself, His language, and His message to you. Trust that He wants to speak to you as much as you want to hear from Him.
“Indeed God speaks once,
Or twice, yet no one notices it.
“In a dream, a vision of the night,
When sound sleep falls on men,
While they slumber in their beds,
Then He opens the ears of men,
And seals their instruction,” Job 33:14-16
God is faithful to you and to what He has called you to. Ask Him to open your ears to hear and seal you instruction. Then rest in His Presence.
He will make sure you get the message.
