Yesterday I spent the morning doing something that was not on my list of to-dos. I called it a God-directed bunny trail. It was what needed to be done in order to accomplish the bigger task of recording my upcoming Created For So Much More study on Zoom.
Someone asked me if I could record the sessions and then post them so that others could join the study later or they could catch up if they missed a night. I said yes and have since felt Holy Spirit prodding me to plan more videos this year.
I use the word prod because doing MORE videos is not in my comfort zone. Figuring out how I can record a Zoom session and then put it on social media is not in my comfort zone. Then I remembered that three years ago using Zoom was not in my comfort zone.
So I told myself “Try it.” “Take the steps to figure this out.” “God showed you the way three years ago, He will show you the way again.”
Psalm 119:105 says,
“Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.”
Proverbs 3:6 says,
“In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.”
We tend to think of these types of passages refer only to our spiritual life. But I have found God in the midst of researching camera upgrades, writing tools, painting dilemmas, and so much more.
God is the source of your purpose. He wants you to fulfill that purpose. He will meet you in the journey and shed His light on the steps you need to take. He will straighten the path that looks too curvy to navigate.
What does God ask of you that is out of your comfort zone?
- Learn a new technology like Zoom?
- Join an online study like Created For So Much More?
- Figure out how to use social media to reach your audience?
- Use the internet to search a matter out?
Whatever it is, acknowledge His Presence in the process and your next steps will be highlighted and your path will straighten before you.
Go ahead, try it!
