To everything there is a season,
a time for every purpose under heaven Ecclesiastes 3:1
Days of joy. Days of sorrow.
Weeks of grief. Weeks of celebration.
Hours of rest. Hours of work.
Sowing and reaping.
Pruning and harvest.
Life is full of seasons and time. Everything has a season that God uses for His purpose in our lives. There are times when we know what God is up to. We can see and understand the purpose. Other times we might scratch our head and say, “Really?’
If you find yourself in a scratching-your-head kind of season I offer you the comfort of Psalm 139.
Verse 2: You know when I sit down and when I get up;
You understand my thought from far off.
Verse 5: You put Yourself behind and before me,
and keep Your hand on me.
Verse 7: Where shall I go from Your spirit,
or where shall I flee from Your presence?
Verses 11–12: If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and the light shall be as night about me,”
even the darkness is not dark to You,
but the night shines as the day,
for the darkness is like light to You.
Verse 17: How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
Nothing that you are going through is a surprise to the Lord who loves and cares for you. What I do know about our God and this life is that no season or time lasts forever.
After the brightest day, twilight happens and night comes.
After the darkest night, morning breaks with the rising of the sun.
God turns our mourning to dancing as He holds our hands and twirls us around the dance floor.
