In great fear and distress Jacob divided the people who were with him into two groups, and the flocks and herds and camels as well. Genesis 32:8
But you have said, ‘I will surely make you prosper and will make your descendants like the sand of the sea, which cannot be counted.’” Genesis 32:12
Jacob found himself threatened by his brother Esau. It was at that moment when he devised a strategy AND reminded the Lord of His promises.
God desires to co-labor with us. He gives us gifts, talents, intelligence, advisors, and so much more to work daily in the purpose that He entrusts to us. He doesn’t promise that things will always go smoothly, but He does promise His Presence and ultimate victory through Christ.
We would be wise to follow Jacob’s lead to strategize with the Lord when we hit obstacles in our path.
We would also be wise to follow Jacob’s lead to stand on the promises of God as we work out our purpose daily.
What promises is God reminding you of today? Stand firm.
