As you move beyond planning into working the plan by taking the next right step, let me encourage you. What seems like a small step to you can be a life changing step in God’s hands.
Your step for the day may be a pause, a baby step, or a giant leap. Do not judge the value of the step that is before you by how large it feels to you in the moment. What you may see as a small insignificant step on the path before you, the Lord will use to take you to the horizon of your big audacious dream.
Consider the beginning of Zechariah 4:10
The first phrase of the verse is familiar to many of us, it says this,
“For who has despised the day of small things?”
You see, what we consider small, the Lord uses to build great things.
The verse in Zechariah is referring to the foundation of the Temple that was being rebuilt. It is in response to the voices that were complaining that the foundation was too small.
Here’s the thing: foundations of buildings are small in comparison to the finished building, but they are important and necessary.
- God can take one conversation and turn it into a career.
- He can take one act of kindness and birth a movement.
Do not judge the step the Lord asks you to take. Simply be obedient to take it.
You never know that the small step the Lord asks you to take may be the foundation of a larger than life building!
Think about doors.
Consider the size of the hinges on giant doors.
Small hinges swing big doors, My Friend.
Take the small step that is before you. Watch and see as God uses those small steps like small hinges and opens big doors into your amazing future.
