Yesterday, you read how I had spent time on what felt like a bunny trail in order to figure out something that I was not comfortable with. Today I want to talk about what happens when we say “Yes’ to God in those circumstances. I will also share my steps in order to offer a guide of sorts when you are faced with a similar situation.
God meets you in the process of discovery. Invite Him to join you in the journey and you will find that He directs your steps.
Isaiah 1:18 is one of my favorite verses because it is an invitation from the Lord to figure things out with Him. He does not leave us on this earth to figure things out on our own.
“Come now, and let us reason together,”Isaiah 1:18
God’s spirit abides in you. His Presence has the ability to direct your thoughts as you work through problems, issues, or challenges. He will teach you what you need to know.
“As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.”
1 John 2:27
You abide in God. He abides in you. Allow Him to direct your thoughts as well as your steps. It might look something like this:
- Do an internet search. I searched on using an external camera for Zoom sessions.
- Speak with a person with experience. For me it was my son who does both audio and video productions for his work.
- Ask for help. I asked my husband to do some research on web cams I could use.
- Be open to suggestion. During that conversation with Rick, I realized I have a great camera on my Apple iPhone.
- Do more internet searches. Watch as many YouTube videos as it takes to sense, “This is the way.” Everyone has their own methods and opinions.
- Keep searching if need be.
- Find the solution that best matches your situation.
- Test it out.
I learned how I could use the equipment I already have to improve video clarity. It took extra work that I didn’t expect to do, but in the end I have the solution to my problem.
God was in each step. He directed my thoughts and my internet search.
Sometimes answers simply come to us as revelation when we sit quietly to reason with God.
Other times we “reason together” by inviting Holy Spirit to guide and direct our research.
