Does Your Heart Burn?

  • Deborah

Tonight and Thursday morning, I will teach on Wisdom on Zoom (If you are interested in attending you can email me at [email protected] and I will send you the notes and the link).

Completely separate from—but never coincidental with the Lord—today is Easter Monday. This is the week—after Easter when we begin to look at the times when the resurrected Jesus visited His disciples. As I thought about the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, I was struck by their response to Jesus after He disappeared.

Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He vanished from their sight. They said to one another, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24:31-32

This is a beautiful description when you are operating in godly wisdom. You know it and so do the people around you.

You may be in a meeting where there is much talk—a great deal of knowledge. When a person speaks that is able to apply that knowledge to the situation they bring wisdom to the discussion.

One pastor I knew described it as a moment when the heavens open and angels sing.

Another way to describe it is hearts burn knowing God has spoken.

Ask for God’s wisdom to interpret His word and apply His wisdom to a life filled with knowledge: facts, figures, quotes, stories, amd so much more.

May your heart burn with His assurance and wisdom.
