When Moses asked God what to say to Pharaoh when asked who had sent him, God answered, “I AM.”
God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” Exodus 3:14.
I don’t know about you, but my inclination is to ask God to finish the statement. I have a tendency to ask, “You are what?”
I AM is related to the name of God we interpret as Jehovah which translates as Lord.
In the next verse, God goes on to expand on I AM.
“God, furthermore, said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name to all generations.” Exodus 3:15
God is Lord. He is Lord of all. God is the same yesterday, today, and all tomorrows. He is for you what He was for Moses.
God is all that you need. He is whatever you need. He is anything you need.
Whatever you are in need of this day, you will find in God, in I AM.
Whatever you face today, join Moses in saying, “I AM has sent me to you.”
Nothing in your day surprises God. He is whatever you need today.
Go ahead and ask Him. He will finish the statement, “I AM _____________________ for you because I love you.”
