“You have to promise I’ll have two good sunsets.” Those were the words of my mother about her upcoming Mother’s Day visit. Since she doesn’t have a lanai—a Florida screened in porch—in her apartment, she treasures time when she can sit outside and watch the sun go down.
It didn’t look good on Saturday. I woke up to wind and dark clouds. We drove through rain to arrive here. The afternoon was filled with much needed rain, but it didn’t look like we were going to get anything close to a pretty sunset.
But God.
Thirty minutes before the time for sunset, a wedge of blue sky began to appear on the northwestern horizon—exactly where the sun sets this time of year. By the time the sun fell, you could see the orange globe descending. It was in the middle of the spot of the cleared sky.
It felt miraculous.
God is in the details of your life.
He cares about the desires of your heart.
“‘Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.’” Luke 12:6–7
Delight yourself in the Lord;
And He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
God is in the details of your life. If life is puzzle that we are trying to put together, He sees the details on each piece AND He knows the greater plan and picture.
Ask the Lord for the details that you need today. Worship Him when He opens the skies so that you can see just what you desire. Praise Him that He works all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
I admit when Mom asked me to promise her a sunset I had doubts that I could make that promise. God didn’t. He knew her desire and it was if He said, “Here you go Daughter.” It humbled me and it has given me confidence to ask for the details.
Go ahead. Ask. What detail are you in need of today?
Very good message!!
Thank You Friend! Blessings to you and yours.
