From the Easel: A Matter of Perspective

  • Deborah

Throughout the creation of a painting, it is imperative that the artist take a step back and check the work.

Standing back allows for a fresh perspective—one that takes the entire painting into consideration. It is a time to check balance and scale, alignment and palette choices.

Sitting at the easel, it is easy to “lose the forest for the trees.” It takes stepping back to notice the whole.

God often asks us to take a step back and take a look at our whole life. I believe that is one of the purposes of the times when He says, “Wait on me.”

Yet those who wait for the Lord
Will gain new strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
They will run and not get tired,
They will walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:31

Eagles have great eyesight. They can see the smallest mouse from hundreds of yards away.  I suggest when we wait for the Lord, when we mount up with wings of eagles, our perspective changes. We are able to see the full picture—Heaven’s perspective—and move forward with much less effort.

Allow the Lord to show you His perspective  today.

You will gain new strength.

You will run and not get tired because you are soaring on the wind of the Holy Spirit

You will walk and not become weary because the Lord is the wind beneath your wings.

Hallelujah!
