Don’t Grow Weary

  • Deborah

When the Lord brings the same scripture to me from two different sources, I take notice. Today, He seemed to be telling me not to grow weary in the work I do.

“Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.” Galatians 6:9

This was particularly interesting to me because the Lord has been showing me different ways we can overcome discouragement and doubt—both of which cause weariness.

Here’s a quick hack to get you off the discouragement  path and on to the encouragement path.

Remember: the phrase “Past, Present, and Future”

We know God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8). Let’s apply that to your discouragement and weariness.

Take a minute when you feel discouraged and remember one or two positive things that God has done for you in the past. If not yesterday, maybe last week, or last month.

Ponder the event and allow yourself to feel the trust, the goodness, and the peace of the moment.

Now apply that goodness, trust, and peace to today, knowing that God has not changed and He is still in the business of working all things together for your good. (Romans 8:28)

If your discouragement is actually worry about tomorrow, apply that same goodness, trust and peace to your future.

God is for you!

He has been with and for you in your past.

He is with and for you in your present

He will be with and for you in your future.

That’s good news!
