Who do you turn to when you need encouragement? Who supports you and is genuinely happy for you when success comes your way? Who will link arms with you and help you as you walk the path to your God-given identity and purpose.
Who are the cheerleaders in your life? That question is one I repeat often to those I mentor, coach, or teach. It is critical to keep the negative voices out of earshot and to include those who will spur you on in your journey to all that God created you to be and do.
Denying access to the negative voices in your life is not just good advice. Consider Psalm 1:1 which says,
“How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!”
Keep those negative voices at bay, and you will be blessed. Surround yourself with encouraging, loving, and helpful voices and you will be doubly blessed.
Look at your life, especially if you are feeling unmotivated to step into what the Lord has for you. Take a good look at the people and relationships that influence you. Are they cheering you on to your God-given identity and destiny? If not, I would suggest you consider what boundaries can be put into place to limit access and exposure.
Your God-given dream is precious and needs to be protected. Surround yourself with those cheerleaders in your life who challenge you to soar higher in who God created you to be and what He created you to do. You will be doubly blessed!
