Blood of the Lamb

  • Deborah

Today is Passover in this week that is Holy Week. Passover commemorates the night when God’s angel of death spared the households of the Children of Israel  that had the blood of an unblemished lamb spread on their doorposts and lintel.

“The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you [a]live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you [b]to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.” Exodus 12:13

This event was a foreshadowing of God’s sacrifice for us, His children. It is why He is referred to as the Lamb of God.

Today, as Christian believers, we continue to be spared from sin, death, and the power of the devil through Christ’s—the Lamb’s—spilled blood.

That is why we can proclaim what the apostle John wrote in Revelation 12:11

“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony,”

When you face attacks or resistance, may this be your battle cry!

Jesus spilled his blood so that you can live victoriously. When He rose on Sunday He overcame anything the enemy throws at you.

Go ahead, say it with me (I particularly need it today)

“I overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony! I am victorious!”

Hallelujah!
