Strength and Courage

  • Deborah

In this first week of the month of new beginnings I have embarked on a new health initiative. It begins with a fast of sorts. The fast has required me to lay down a few favorite  foods and habits that I love. It has not been easy.

God has already shown me that He provides the self control I need to follow the path that He has set before me. He provides whatever you need to take the step out of your comfort zone into the new thing that He has for you this month and beyond too.

Yesterday I heard, “Be strong and courageous.”  I then turned to Joshua 1 where the Lord speaks that phrase to Joshua not once, but three times.

I landed on the third time, Joshua 1:9

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.””

Joshua 1:9

Do not tremble or be dismayed. Do not fret that you might not be able to do what God is asking of you. Lean on the courage He provides.

Do not be surprised when through His strength you accomplish so much more than you thought you could.

The Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Especially when He calls you to lay down favorite things, change your habits, and takes you out of your comfort zone.

Hallelujah!

  1. I started a new job at 56 yr young and your message hit straight to my heart and on my knees before the Father thanking Him for I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me. This was a reminder because I am changing my habits and taken out of my comfort zone. Amen!

    1. Wow! Thank you for this Susie! I am humbled when the Lord uses my words to speak His heart to His children. Thanks for sharing. Blessings on your new job!
