In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
When we think fo the Christmas season, we often think of such words as joy, peace, hope, love, and so much more. This week I am reminded of the passage in John 1 where we are told that the Word was with God and the Word was God. Jesus is the Word. Jesus is all the words of the season.
Jesus is Love
The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 1 John 4:8
Jesus is Hope
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus according to the commandment of God our Savior, and of Christ Jesus, who is our hope, 1 Timothy 1:1
Jesus is Peace
For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
Jesus is Joy
Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and joy are in His place. 1 Chronicles 16:27
Jesus is the all the words…
Jesus is the fragility of an infant
And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2: 7
Jesus is flesh
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us. John 1: 14
Jesus was not known
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
John 1:10
Jesus was not received
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
John 1: 12
Whatever word(s) you are experiencing this season, you have a Savior who knows.
Jesus is the Word.
He became flesh to meet you right here, in this season.
He is your source of all that it good about the season.
Jesus is hope, joy, love, peace, and so much more. And He gives generously and freely.
Hallelujah!
