Last week I shared the difference between light and pigment. I mentioned that white light is the presence of all color. I was struck by this concept this week when I read 1 John 1:5 and John 8:12.
“This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5
God is Light. In Him there is no darkness at all.
God is the brightest light there is. He is the Light of the World.
“Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.’” John 8:12
The connection of white light holding all color struck me as I read these passages. If God is light and Jesus is the Light of the World, it seems to me that He has all that we need. Metaphorically, all the colors are found in Him. Spiritually speaking, all that we desire—holiness, sanctification, obedience, worship, peace, joy, etc.—can be found in Christ.
All that we have need of is found in the Light of life that is ours through Christ
Jesus tells us that we walk in His light and carry His Light of life. Anything you have need of already abides in you through Christ Jesus. Open your heart to see and receive whatever you have need of this day.
The Light of the world abides in you! It is not pigment that can be covered over, it is light with no darkness. That’s good news! Anything you need is found in the Light that abides in you.
Hallelujah!
