On our journey to finish the year well, I want to share another strategy that will have you soaring into 2025.
We all live with the tension between our dreams for the future—our hope and prayer to finish well and receive the so much more in ’24 that the Lord has for us—and the reality of our current circumstances..
In the context of Created For So Much More, I suggest that you apply the strategy that says, “Live Now.” In short, this strategy suggests that you look at today and ask the Lord what He wants you to focus on or do in this moment and this moment only.
Let me remind you that if the Lord asks you to do something, He empowers you to accomplish it. Align your perspective with Heaven and you will see that you can do so much more in one day than you think you can.
Embrace the present. Choose reality. Don’t be so focused on the past 9/10 months or the next 10-12 weeks that you miss the opportunity and divine appointments that the Lord has for you today.
I call this action of choosing reality or noticing what is in front of you embracing your “sacred now.”
Today becomes sacred when you rest in whatever the Lord is doing in your life this day.
As Jesus went on to say in Matthew 6,
“So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34
It is helpful and productive to set new goals that will keep you moving forward on your path of purpose and destiny. However, do not allow those decisions to consume you with worry or anxiety—both of which steal your peace and joy. Value progress over perfection—or making every single decision the perfect one.
Strengthen yourself in the Lord and set your mind on the tasks and assignments of today.
“Blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.” Psalm 84:5 NKJV
When you ask Holy Spirit to show you the steps you are to take today, you can take them with the assurance that He is guiding you on the path of your identity and purpose. In God’s hands, a mundane meeting can become a gateway for a new opportunity and exciting adventures.
When you see today as sacred, Jesus transforms your worry into hope. He takes your anxiety about the future and reshapes it into anticipation and optimism.
Live now, Dear One.
See today as sacred.
