Try It Tuesday: Sacred Rest

Indeed, we all need to try finding sacred rest in the midst of the busy lifestyles that seem to be the order of the day. Today, however I am recommending Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith’s book, Sacred Rest.

I initially bought this book because I had heard how she breaks rest into seven categories and I was intrigued. Nothing on the back cover description indicates that this is written by a Christian or that it includes biblical references. Imagine my surprise to find that not only is it faith based, but that Dr. Dalton-Smith’s approach fits easily into my approach to life: a balance of mind, body, spirit, and heart,

Within the pages of this book, you will discover the differences between physical, spiritual, mental, emotional, social, sensory, and creative types of rest.

It is important to nourish and rest your whole self. It is an important part of a prosperous lifestyle soaring as who God created you to be doing what God created you to do.

“Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.” 3 John 2

I highly recommend this book, but even more I pray that you recognize all of the different facets of your life that require nourishment and rest.

Where do you need rest?

How can you implement even just five minutes of rest?

Don’t have five minutes? Try one.

You will be glad you did.
