You are God’s masterpiece created for the good works of your purpose.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2:10
It is the enemy of your soul who tries to convince you that you are “just” anything,
JUST: “I am just a stay at home mom.” “I am just a high school graduate.” “I am just an artist.”
God created you as His masterpiece and said it was good! (Genesis 1:31)
Your unique approach reflects your God-given identity and a unique “who”—who God created you to be. You are to be celebrated not limited by the word “just.”
THE WAY I AM: “I am not a patient person; it’s the way I am.”
Within you God gave you the ability and power to change. Change your thoughts. Replace the thought that you are a certain way and cannot change, and you will transform your life.
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2
You my friend can do all things…including change the way you are…through Christ.
“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
With that we come to my last Red Flag Word. It is by far not the least. It is a sneaky one, because it feels right. It feels like we “should” use it in order to live a sanctified life.
“SHOULD” “I should do more charity work.” “I should be more disciplined.” “I should read more.”
Should is a judgment word. I can see the finger wagging that goes along with the word “should.” Here is a very practical way to get rid of the “should dos”. Change your language to “I’d like to.” See how that phrase brings fresh air with it?
Change your thinking. Change your mind. Change your words.
Let Holy Spirit wag the red flag whenever you speak these words and phrases over yourself or others. STOP and adjust your language, your thoughts, and your actions and you will soon be soaring in all that the Lord has for you.
