Peace, Be Still

  • Deborah

I have spent a good part of the past two days watching the Weather Channel. Hurricane Ian is poised to make landfall today in the precise spot where my mother (age 93) and uncle (age 100) live. Also in this landfall prediction is the condo where I wrote Created For So Much More and have written many a blog post.

How to pray?

I have remembered Jesus sleeping in the boat and calming the storm.

Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.  The men were amazed, and said, “What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” Matthew 8:26–27

What kind of God do we serve?

One who is still able to calm the storm.

One who says, “Peace, be still.”

To the turbulence of the winds and water.

To the turbulence within my heart as I sit high and dry in Tennessee and anxiously watch development.

Peace. Be Still.
