Wherever Your Path Leads

  • Deborah

Over the past week, we have looked back at the last six months and have looked forward to the next six months. Everything I have asked you to do and ask has been to position you to “win” the year soaring with God in your identity and purpose. Today, I want to emphasize what is perhaps the most important step in fulfilling your God-given vision and call: committing everything to the Lord.

Wherever your steps and path lead, commit them to the Lord and He will guide and direct you.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do,

    and he will establish your plans”. Proverbs 16:3

According to Connect Us, the meaning behind the phrase “He will establish your plans.” Is actually so much more than guiding and directing.

“The double meaning here is that God will put the right plans, the ones according to his will, into your heart. His plans will become your plans.  And then he will make those plans succeed.”  (https://connectusfund.org/proverbs-16-3-meaning-of-commit-to-the-lord-whatever-you-do)

Wherever your path leads, allow God to speak His plans to your heart. You do that by checking in with Him before you take any step along the journey. Sit, ponder, and listen as He leads you.

This is what the apostle Paul refers to when He tells the Colossians to work “as for the Lord rather than men.”

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.” Colossians 3:23

Wherever you path leads, whatever the step before you, consider it an act of worship. We worship God when we commit our way to Him, allow Him to order our steps, and then do the work as an act of service to Him.

As we come to the end of the first half of 2022 will you join me in praying Psalm 90:17?

Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us;

And confirm for us the work of our hands;

Yes, confirm the work of our hands.” Psalm 90:17
