Meet the Team: Rick Gall

  • Deborah

“Then I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them.” Jeremiah 32:39 NKJV

Nearly 44 years ago, my father—the pastor who officiated at our wedding—gave Rick and I this verse as our “wedding verse”.  Allow me to introduce my husband and my heart, Rick Gall. Although Rick plays a more behind-the-scenes role in my ministry today, he is the first point of contact for many of the revelations and ideas about the ministry.

In a previous season,  Rick spent 26 years as a corporate executive. When he retired from that life he became what we laughingly called the CFO, COO, and President of Abide Studio—our art business located in The Factory at Franklin.  During the 10 years of that business Rick’s dedication to doing whatever needed to be done allowed me to create art and run the marketplace ministry the Lord birthed at that time.

Today, as the mainstay of my life and my ministry accountability team, Rick is my sounding board and helps to keep me centered on the Lord and the call of the ministry.

Throughout his careers and woven through his personal life Rick has lived by these guiding principals: “God is in control and sovereign. I have access to His incredible life-saving Presence so I seek it and abide in it always through worship and prayer in order to serve in humility, love, and unity.”

When I asked Rick for favorite scriptures, he spent time with the Lord as he reviewed and remembered all of the scriptures that have played a significant role during his life-long journey with the Lord. In addition to our wedding verse, he shared the following as “life verses”.

Philippians 4:6-7 NIV  Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Isaiah 6:8 NKJV  Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:

“Whom shall I send,

And who will go for Us?”

Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Luke 15:31 NKJV  “And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.

If you have heard me speak, read my book, or my blogs, you will understand the signifficance of the wedding verse my father spoke over us. These verses are near and dear to my heart as well and are foundational to many of my teachings and writings. The Lord indeed has given us one heart.

I am eternally grateful for this man in my life and his steadying influence and constant love.

    1. Indeed! Always a miracle when I think that we have been together since we were 16. How did I know? But God!
