Godfidence

  • Deborah

Are you facing a particularly steep hill that needs to be climbed? Does the next right step the Lord has shown you feel more like a giant leap than a natural step? Do you look to the future and your assignment from Heaven and wonder how you will sustain the energy and inspiration to consistently “bring it?”

You are not alone. God often gives us assignments that cause us to stretch beyond our current abilities. Stretching keeps you learning and growing. You learn more about your talents and calling. You also learn more about God as you rely more and more on Him.

Consider what the apostle Paul taught his student Timothy about relying on God.

“But I am still full of confidence, because I know whom I have trusted, and I am sure that he is able to keep safe until that Day what he has entrusted to me.”

2 Timothy 1:12 (GNT) (emphasis mine)

Paul’s confidence did not come from his own experience or ability. Paul’s confidence came from His trust in God. He knew that the assignment the Lord had entrusted to him was ultimately God’s responsibility to bring to pass.

Read that verse again from The Message translation.

“I couldn’t be more sure of my ground—the One I’ve trusted in can take care of what he’s trusted me to do right to the end.” 2 Timothy 1:12 (MSG) (emphasis mine)

What this means is there are no hills you can’t climb with God by your side.

It means when God says leap He will give you the stride and strength to land safely.

It means that you can trust that the energy and inspiration will never run out as long as you pursue God’s next right step.

A dear friend of mine call this kind of confidence, “GODFIDENCE.” It is confidence that comes from trusting God to work in and through you to live fully as who He created you to be and to do what He created you to do.

So, Dear One, tackle that mountain, take that leap, and keep “bringing it” in all that you do.

You’ve got Godfidence!
