Finding Your Way

  • Deborah
“Kingdom Come”

“Helping others find their way” is the branding log line for my ministry. It is part of my logo and is at the root of my mission. The phrase encompasses the many things I do in my ministry to assist others to draw closer to the Lord on their journey of identity and purpose.

Recently I have pondered that word WAY.

It can be defined as:

  • A road, route, path, or passage that leads from one place to another
  • Space to proceed
  • An unusual or customary course of action or state of affairs
  • Progress or advancement in accomplishing a goal
  • A manner or method of doing
  • A habit, characteristic, or tendency
  • A specific direction
  • An aptitude or a facility

Biblically, Jesus calls Himself the way in John 14:6 when he tells the disciples,

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

Jesus is not only the way to the Father, He is our way to the so much more of life. Jesus fulfills all of the above definitions of the word way, and so much more! He is the path, the course of action, the habit, etc. WOW! Could it be that He is our way to a more abundant life? The way to our God-given identity and purpose? Our way to freedom from bondage? The answer is a resounding YES and so much more!

Jesus and His Spirit are the way for more than our spiritual lives.  In John 14:26 Jesus says,

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

The Greek meaning of the word “all” in this verse means “all.” All means all. The Lord brings revelation for our businesses, our ministries, our families, and so much more.

I am a painter because one day I sat at a canvas with a palette of acrylic paints and asked Holy Spirit to teach me. I said, “Lord, I don’t know how to paint, but You do. Teach me.” And He did. Step-by-step He led me to what became my unique style of texture and layering of color to achieve the vision in my spirit.

God pours out wisdom and discernment when you ask. He has what you need for the meeting scheduled for tomorrow, or the decision that needs to be made by next week. He will whisper His priorities as you face an overflowing to do list or struggle with managing important but conflicting tasks. He will guide you on the path through road blocks, pivots, and detours.

Jesus.

The Way.

The Truth.

The Life.

Allow the Lord to lead and you will follow the most direct route for your life. Seek the Lord’s wisdom and you will proceed in the right manner of doing things with just the right aptitude heading in just the right direction. In short, seek Jesus–THE WAY–for your daily life and you will find your way to who God created you to be, doing what He created you to do.

That’s good news!
