Are You Soaring or Sinking?

When you live fully embracing who God created you to be doing what He created you to do you soar with Him into all of the new things He has for you. You can sink when you spend more time analyzing your circumstances, your mistakes, or your pace rather than with the One who created you and your purpose.

Psalm 46:10 tells us to be still and recognize who God is.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;

    I will be exalted among the nations,

    I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

In other words, God is God. He is the one who will be exalted among the nations and in the earth. You are not.

You are not the one who can change the hearts of men. You are not the one who can bring divine appointments and opportunities across your path. You are not the one to be lifted up and exalted.

God is God. You are not.

You soar with God when you relax, let go, and surrender the results to Him.

You sink when you hold tight, strive to make things happen, or take on assignments that He has not asked you to do.

Like Peter who took his eyes off of Jesus and became aware of the wind and the waves surrounding him (Matthew 15:30), you can sink in your pursuit of your God-given purpose when you take your eyes off of One who gave you your identity and purpose.

There is an easy solution. Schedule time in the Word. Sit with God. He is faithful to meet you whenever you take the time to spend with Him. Repent of trying to do things on your own. Release your grip. Be still.

God is faithful to your call and HE will bring it to pass (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

God is the wind beneath your wings.

God will lift you higher as you rest in Him.

All you have to do is be still and allow Him to be God.
